She was changing. There was no doubt about that.
She did so whenever she wore a different hat.
Sometimes she was a cheerleader, a role model, or a guide
But no matter what she never left their side.
She’d run along beside them pushing and encouraging
Building up their hopes never discouraging
She’d go home and change into the role of mother and wife
Where she’d tirelessly cook and clean and love without strife
Other times she’d change and wear the hat of friend
Where she laugh and cry and sometimes have to defend
Sometimes she’d change into the role of leader
Where she’d go wherever anyone would need her
No matter the changes made for the various hats she wore
She was always prepared for whatever was in store
No matter the role she played she remained the same at her core.
