Distractions

 

I need to buckle down and get busy

But that’s not always so easy

Too many things demand my time

Like the games I play online

I have patients to cure in My Hospital

And my city is busy building a motel.

I should really go outside and mow

It’s winter? Then, I guess I should shovel some snow.

I need to rearrange the books on my shelves

And these selfies aren’t going to take themselves.

Maybe I should check back in on my games

Yay, I made the hall of fame.

I spend some time on social media

Facebook, Twitter, Insta. Maybe I’ll book my next trip on expedia.

I really need to prep my meals for the week

Lay out clothes, after all my fashion game is weak.

I should probably check in with my mom

Look up old friends I haven’t seen in so long

Hey! Another notification just popped up in my feed 

And I need to finish Season 1 of Stranger Things

There’s a nap on my list of things to do

Then, maybe I’ll shine my shoes

So you ask why my work never gets started

Because from the rest of my life I can’t be parted.
